The Secret to Fast Cashouts on Sweeps Casinos? Gift Cards

Gift cards are often overlooked, but they offer faster payouts, lower redemption thresholds, and fewer hurdles than traditional cash options. For many players, they are one of the simplest ways to turn small wins into real value.

One of the “must-have” things I look for when evaluating a sweepstakes casino is whether it offers gift cards for redemption. It is often a deciding factor in whether I add a casino to my daily play list. Many sweepstakes casinos offer gift card redemptions, but players tend to overlook them, even though they offer a faster way to get their money.

Today, I’m going to give you the lowdown on redeeming with gift cards at sweepstakes casinos, including their advantages and drawbacks. I’ll also provide you with a list of popular sweepstakes casinos offering low redemption thresholds for gift card redemptions.

How Gift Card Redemptions Work at Sweepstakes Casinos

If a sweeps casino offers gift card redemptions, the process is simple. When you meet the minimum redemption threshold, you select gift cards to start the process.

The majority of sites use Prizeout to process gift cards, and you can pick from dozens of retailers. The partners are always changing, but below are some of the brands you can currently request a gift card for:

  • Ebay
  • Google Play
  • Kroger
  • Papa Johns
  • Subway
  • Starbucks
  • Target
  • Xbox

When you’re presented with a list of available brands, you select which brand you’d like to get a gift card for, the amount you wish to redeem, and click Submit.

After you submit your request, you’ll receive an email from Prizeout confirming your submission. If you don’t see an email in a few minutes, double-check your spam or trash folders and whitelist Prizeout so you don’t miss future emails.

Once Prizeout approves your redemption, you’ll receive a follow-up email with a link to your card and instructions for redeeming it.

The Benefits of Gift Cards at Sweeps Casinos

The majority of sites I play at offer gift card redemptions because they offer advantages over other redemption options. Here are some of the top benefits of gift cards at sweepstakes casinos.

Lower Redemption Minimums

The redemption threshold for gift cards is much lower than for bank or debit card redemptions. The average redemption threshold is 25 SC. In some instances, such as McLuck and Pulsz, it is as low as 10 SC.

Cash redemptions often start at 50 SC, with many requiring 100 SC. For casual players, particularly those trying to grind free rewards, a gift card redemption is a much more reasonable goal.

Faster Processing Times

Gift card redemption process faster than every other form of fiat redemption. Most sweeps casinos process gift card redemptions in 24 to 48 hours. Some casinos process gift card redemptions in under an hour, rivaling crypto redemption speeds. Recently, I received a Kroger gift card from Jackpot Rabbit in just 8 minutes.

In contrast, cash withdrawals can take several days to process, sometimes longer. When you can get your money quicker, there’s less temptation to cancel your redemptions, allowing you to walk away with your winnings.

Easier Approval and Fewer Issues

The verification process is a little less strict when you redeem with gift cards. Often, you only need to verify your ID and address. For many casinos, you can get verified for gift card redemptions in just a few minutes to a couple of hours.

When you get verified for cash redemption, you typically have to show proof of ownership of a bank or e-wallet account. This requires you to upload personal bank documents that someone must manually review. This can take days.

Gift card redemptions tend to have fewer issues than bank transfers. You don’t have to worry about communication issues between banks or about declined transactions. Gift cards aren’t subject to banking regulations, speeding up the process.

Up to a 20% Bonus on Select Brands

One unadvertised advantage of redeeming with gift cards is that you can sometimes get a bonus on your redemption. Some brands will offer a bonus ranging form 1% up to 20% on your total. If you redeem 50 SC, you can get up to an extra $10 on your gift card.

The bonus amounts and brands are random, but bonus offers are always available. They will be featured when you go to redeem, so pay attention. I’ve gotten up to 20% extra on Subway and Papa Johns in the past, and up to 10% extra on eBay gift cards.

The bonus comes with no strings attached, so it is literally free money.

More Frequent Redemptions

One of my favorite reasons for playing at sites offering gift card redemptions is that I can redeem more often. For sites offering a 45-50 SC gift card redemption, I average about 1 per month on free play. For sites with a 20 to 25 SC redemption, I’ll get 2 redemptions per month on average.

These frequent redemptions pile up, especially if you play at multiple sites. It’s very satisfying to rack up a bunch of redemptions and makes play much more rewarding. I know people always like to talk about the “big win,” but smaller, consistent wins feel just as good and are less stressful.

The Drawbacks of Gift Cards

While there are plenty of advantages to using gift cards, below are some drawbacks to keep in mind.

Limited Flexibility

Gift card redemptions are less flexible than cash, as you’re limited to the brands offered. Also, the number of brands offered by each casino is different. You can only use the cards with the brands you pick, and you cannot redeem them for cash. If you decide that you no longer want the gift card, you cannot exchange it with the casino or Prizeout.

Availability and Restrictions

In some cases, you may run into restrictions on gift cards. Some sites may restrict the type of cards available based on your location. In some cases, you may have restrictions on the amount you can redeem. For example, I’ve run into casinos where you had to redeem in $5 increments, so if you have $54 to redeem, you can only redeem $50.

On occasion, a site may discontinue offering a particular brand due to a lack of supply or other reasons. I’ve seen options for Subway and Papa Johns disappear from casinos at random, only to reappear weeks later.

Brand May Limit Gift Card Usage

An issue I run across a bit is an inability to use some gift cards due to platform restrictions. For example, Kroger only lets you attach 5 gift cards to the site at a time. Ebay has a restriction on how much you can load onto a card.

If the number or amount of gift cards exceeds these restrictions, you may find yourself with a growing number of unused gift cards. This will not be an issue for those of you playing at one or two casinos, but for those of you, like me, who grind multiple casinos, limits will restrict your ability to use gift cards.

Gift Cards are a Perfect Option for Casual Players

Sweeps casinos that offer gift cards for redemption offer casual players faster redemptions with a lower payment threshold and less friction than standard options. The tradeoffs are that options are limited, and some restrictions on use may apply.

Over 80% of the casinos I regularly interact with offer gift card redemption. I’ve cashed out thousands in gift cards across eBay, Kroger, Subway, and other brands and plan to continue doing so. If you’re looking for low redemption options and fast processing, gift card redemptions are the way to go.
