How I Made Nearly $1,000 From Low-Effort Sweepstakes Play

What can realistic sweepstakes casino play actually earn? This breakdown examines nearly $1,000 in redemptions and the basic strategies behind them.

If you’re like me, you’ve probably read articles from writers talking about sweepstakes casinos and wonder if they actually play, and if so, how much they actually win. So, in the interest of full transparency, I’m going to give you a “peek behind the curtain” and let you know how much I actually won in May from sweepstakes casinos.

I’ve played and interacted with over 60 sweepstakes casinos in May and redeemed rewards from 19 different platforms. I’m going to let you know how much I made as well as some of the factors that influenced my redemptions during the month.

May Was a Great Month

May was one of the better months that I’ve had in a while. I had a total of 28 redemptions during the month from 19 different platforms. As I tend to do, 23 of my redemptions were gift cards. Here’s a brief rundown of my redemptions:

  • 21 76 Gas Gift Cards
  • 1 Kroger Gift Card
  • 1 Subway Gift Card
  • 1 Prepaid Visa Card
  • 3 Cash Redemptions

Gas is insanely high, so I’ve been focusing on those options. I haven’t paid for gas all month, which has been sweet. Now, let’s take a deeper look at how much I actually earned, and how.

How Much Did I Make From Free Play?

Let’s start with what most of you probably want to know. Did I make any money exclusively from free play? I did, and a bit more than most months. My total redemptions from free play were $710.29. I was able to pull a redemption from free play at 17 of the 19 sweepstakes casinos I frequent.

Funzcity was my best site for free play in May, with three redemptions totaling $131.09. 4 Funz City Chips: Bonus Combo (reskinned 7777: Bonus Combo) was hitting well and gave me redemptions of $26.28, $60.18, and $44.63. StormRush was second with $71.74 over two redemptions.

How Much Did I Win from Purchases?

I only had three sites with purchases this month. For the three sites where I made purchases, I redeemed $277.91 from $114.99 in purchases. The bulk of these redemptions resulted from my April tests of Prime and Prime + game passes on Slotomo and Spinfinite. I spent $44 on Slotomo and cashed out $134.52. For Spinfinite, I made total purchases of $56 and received $125.39 in redemptions. While these winnings occurred in April, redemption was not possible until early May.

My last purchase was a $14.99 purchase on Spindoo. I decided to end my time playing after they eliminated my daily SC rewards and made a $14.99 purchase, intending to spin it up and redeem. I effectively broke even on my purchase and redeemed for $18.

Generally, I make a purchase only when there is an offer with an SC boost of 100% or more. I’m currently purchasing the Prime + packages monthly from Spinfinite and Slotomo because they offer a 300% boost in SC split over 30 days.

Spoiler Alert: I’ve earned 3x my May spend between Spinfinite and Slotomo, so I will be purchasing this package again in June.

What’s My Play Style Like?

Now, you probably notice that I am not sitting here claiming that I am making thousands of dollars a month, or that I turned a .10 spin into $1,000 like you see on some social media. My focus is actually pulling redemptions from sweepstakes casinos, so I approach things a bit differently.

My rules for play:

1. I mostly stick to SC earned from free play or free spins.

2. I stick to select games and typically play for no more than .20 per spin.

3. When a good video poker game (9-6 single hand or low stakes 8-5 or better for multi-hand) is available, I tend to play that over slots.

4. I almost never purchase unless the offer is under $20 and offers a 100% boost or better. There are two exceptions that I’ll discuss later.

5. I wait until I have at least 1 SC or more to play my free SC. I play spins as soon as they are available.

6. I pay close attention to email and social media for freebies.

So, how much does all this take out of my day? It depends on the day. If there is a day when I have a lot of play available (based on my rules), I may spend an hour. Otherwise, it’s about 20-30 minutes a day.

Also, if I see a social media pop-up while I’m at my computer, I jump on it, as many offers are time-limited. Anything sent via email I get to at my leisure, unless a hard time limit is mentioned.

What Helped to Improve My Win Rate in May

For the month, I redeemed for $988.20. If you take away my purchases, that’s $873.21 in pure profit. This is one of my better months in May 2026, and there are a few reasons behind this.

First, I have been getting lucky on 7777: Bonus Combo. My go-to games are usually 3 Pot Buffalo and 3 Big Barrels Buffalo, but 7777 has been scoring me larger wins in the bonus game. It’s not available on all the sites I play at, which is why my winnings weren't higher.

Next, I have been following casino social media pages a bit more. I follow a dozen sites on Discord, and many more on Facebook and X. Many of the sites I follow offer separate promotions on Discord and Facebook. The free spins and free SC definitely led to at least 5 of the redemptions on my list.

Also, I got lucky and won a prize draw at Pulsz that gave me 50 free SC. I turned that into a $39.36 redemption.

$1,000 From Hobby Gambling is Not Too Shabby

I’ve never made it a secret to anyone that my play at sweepstakes casinos is a hobby. I use my winnings to supplement my lifestyle. I also refuse to spend large sums of money each month on sweeps sites, especially since patience and sticking to my plan allow me to win money.

Currently, I earn between $500 and $1,000 per month from my sweepstakes play. May was a good month. Next month may not be as profitable, but I’m never going to turn down some free Franklins, regardless of the amount.

If you want some recommendations on where to play, check out some of the sites I mentioned above, or check out our main Sweepstakes page for sites we recommend. Whether you play at 1 site or 100, there are plenty of opportunities to turn your hobby gambling into prizes. Good luck!
