7 NFL Markets You’ll Find on Kalshi, But Not Sportsbooks

From Hall of Fame picks to retirements and franchise sales, Kalshi offers NFL markets that traditional sportsbooks rarely touch.

It wasn’t that long ago when sports betting was a taboo subject among NFL fans. You would occasionally hear about the betting lines on a game or a team’s odds to win the Super Bowl, but it wasn’t something that came up very often in day-to-day conversations with football fans.

But thanks to the legalization of sportsbooks in many U.S. states, sports betting has become mainstream over the last five years. There are more football fans than ever wagering on NFL contests, and that has prompted sportsbooks and prediction markets to get creative with their markets.

However, some markets still aren’t available on typical sportsbooks but are available on certain prediction markets like Kalshi. And here are the top “unusual” markets that you need to know before we enter the upcoming season:

Week 1 Starting Quarterback

One of the best markets on Kalshi that you wouldn’t find on a traditional online sportsbook is which quarterbacks will win their battles during camp. Several quarterback competitions are happening across the NFL, including a few high-profile ones that have just been decided.

This market tends to get a lot of action during the offseason, and it usually concludes in early August, but be on the lookout each offseason when the predictions are posted.

2027 Hall of Fame Inductees

Do you think you know who is going to make the Hall of Fame next season? There is no other sportsbook that will take wagers on this market, but Kalshi allows fans to trade on who they think will be honored in next year’s class.

Players who are eligible for the first time in 2027 include Rob Gronkowski, Ben Roethlisberger, Adrian Peterson, Richard Sherman, Cam Newton, Antonio Brown, and Andrew Whitworth.

These markets move rapidly, so make sure you check out Kalshi daily to see how each player is trading for the Hall of Fame.

X Player’s Next Team

Another unique market that is typically only available on Kalshi is where a player might take his next snap. Now, this market is usually only available for current free agents or players who have recently requested trades. But every now and then, a popular name will surface, and Kalshi will allow users to trade in those markets as well.

A current player who has a market for his next team is Tyreek Hill, who suffered a gruesome leg injury during the 2025 season. While there is some doubt that he will be ready to play this year, Kalshi does have a market available for players to trade their predictions. Be sure to check out the site to see the latest trades on where a superstar player might suit up next year.

X Player’s Next Game

There are also markets available for when a player might play their next game. This is usually reserved for players who are injured, who are currently backups, or thinking about coming out of retirement. These markets don’t last long, and there are usually only one or two available at a time, so be sure to keep an eye out for when they pop up!

X Player’s Retirement

If you really want to get into the weeds when it comes to futures markets, Kalshi offers prediction markets on when a player will retire from the sport. Some recent markets include players like Matthew Stafford and Travis Kelce, who are both at the end of their careers.

These markets can allow players to trade on specific seasons way into the future or can allow players to trade on which player will retire first, such as Stafford OR Kelce. Occasionally, we will even see markets about which players might come out of retirement first, so be sure to check out Kalshi daily to see what new markets appear.

Top 100 NFL players

Top-100 Finish

Before every single football season, the NFL releases its annual top 100 players for the upcoming season, voted on by the NFL players. This list usually gains quite a bit of traction on social media as fans argue over every ranking and where their favorite players should finish.

Kalshi is the only prediction market that lets guests trade on where they believe a player will finish. Will Myles Garrett finish as the No. 1 player of the 2026 season? Or will that honor go to a quarterback like Josh Allen or Matthew Stafford? This is another fun way to make predictions about players and the NFL before the season begins.

Next Team To Sell Franchise

The final unique market that Kalshi offers that you will never find on a traditional sportsbook is which NFL franchise will be sold next? The league has had several sold in recent years, including the Seattle Seahawks in 2026. Could the Panthers or the Ravens (the two current highest trading markets) be the next one to be sold? There are several teams listed on Kalshi for trades, so be sure to check out the current market for all of the latest predictions.

We should also mention that there are more obsolete markets available for NFL franchises, such as whether teams will be relocated, whether stadiums will be completed by a certain date, and who will host an upcoming Super Bowl. All of those markets are available only on Kalshi and would never appear on your favorite sportsbook.
