Rules for future bets and propositions on horses
The Bodog sportsbook offers fixed odds and future bets for the Triple Crown, the Breeders' Cup and occasionally other Grade I thoroughbred races.
1. Bets are “on a winner” only and will be paid out according to the odds at the time you place your bet.
2. Place, Show and Exotic bets are not available in the Sportsbook
3. All bets are valid, with the exception of bets placed on the day of the race when bets on withdrawn/out of participation horses will be refunded.
4. Any bets accepted after the official posting time will be void.
5. We occasionally offer one-on-one matchups between horses; both horses will need to run for these bets to be valid.
6. You can't make parlay bets on horse racing.
7. Dead heat or tiebreaker rule: when you have a proposition with multiple results or an event where two winners tie. If a “dead heat” or tiebreaker is declared in any event, half of the bet is applied to the selection with the entire odds and the other half will be considered lost. If more than two “dead heat” are declared, the bet is adjusted proportionally, not including sports where you can bet on the draw option (for example, soccer).
8. Rule of deduction 4° - These are deductions made when a horse or several are withdrawn from a race, making it easier for the remaining horses in the field to win. This way, each horse in the race will have fewer horses to beat, which makes it more likely that the horse you have selected will win.
Deductions only apply when one or more horses withdraw from a race once you have placed your bet. The deductions under this rule apply to the winnings you receive when the horse you have bet on wins or gets a winning post.
The amount of the Rule 4 deduction is calculated from the probability that the withdrawn horse won the race. The table below shows the amount of the deduction according to the price of the selection that has been withdrawn.
