What is Texas Hold’em?
Also known as Hold’em, it is the most popular style of Poker in the world. It is simple to learn to play and to put into practice. In addition, it has several fun strategies that can be used in different situations very easily.
To play Texas Hold’em it is important to know the following:
- Each player receives two cards (not visible to the rest of the table).
- The dealer deals five community cards, 3 at the same time and then two more to complete the hand.
- Bets are made before and after revealing each community card.
- Wins the best poker hand.
Texas Hold’em Rules
In Texas Hold’em each player receives two cards not visible to the rest of the table. There are five shared cards that are revealed by the dealer and that can be used by all the players at the table to form a hand. In each hand, two players must bet (small blind, big blind) before the cards are dealt.
The first player to act will see his cards and decide whether to raise the bet, leave or stay. In this case, raising the bet means betting more money than the value of the big blind (at least double). Staying means betting the same value as the big blind and leaving means getting out of hand. Once the decision is made, it is time for the next player to choose what to do until they reach the player who paid the big blind. If no one "stays", the value of the big blind remains in the pot.
If we take into account the hand that is in play, the next move will be to reveal the flop. The first three community cards are called flop. These three cards are available to all players. With them and their hand they can form a combination of five cards. After the flop, there is another round of betting, and if necessary, two more cards are dealt; turn and river, with one round of betting each. The winner is the one who makes the other players leave the game or has the best hand at the showdown.
