How does Video Poker work?

There are two types of Video Poker games:

With no joker: Video Poker games with no joker use a deck of 52 cards and each card has its own value.

With joker: there are two types of Video Poker games with joker:

One made with a 52 cards deck, where one card works as joker.

Games with a 52 cards deck with one or two jokers. Video Poker games that use jokers are called “Joker Poker”. The game is played with 52 cards + 1 joker. The “Double Joker Poker” uses 52 cards + 2 jokers.

The main objective in Video Poker is to get a poker combination. Not all Video Poker games reward the same combinations in the same way. The prizes in each Video Poker game can be found in the Pay table of each game.

A Video Poker machine looks like a slot. You can find the description of each element in a Video Poker machine below.

Pay table

The pay table shows each Poker combinations with each prize. The tables have 5 columns, the first one has the name of the combinations and the rest have the prizes according to the amount of credits betted. The more credits you bet, the bigger the prize. If you want to win big, you should look for the Royal Flush with the most number of credits (5).

The panel show the 5 cards in your hand.

Money button

Modern machines have a space for coins and bills.

Deal button

Button to give the cards.

Bet button

Button to determine the bet level, the number of credits to be played in each round. The betting level can be altered from round to round.

Maximum bet button

Button to bet the maximum number of credits per round.

5 hold buttons

After the cards are dealt, the player must decide which cards to hold and which to discard. Under each card there is a "hold" button to keep the hand in play.

Video Poker step by step

The first thing you have to do when playing Video Poker is to deposit in your account in order to play and win real prizes. Once your deposit is made, the money will be automatically credited to your account so you can start playing.

Number of credits

Select how many credits you want to play using the bet button to increase or decrease the number of credits.

Visit cards

After the number of credits has been determined, you must press the "Deal" button for the machine to deal the 5 cards for your hand. You can use the maximum bet button to bet the maximum limit. In general, when you press this button, the maximum bet is placed and the game is activated.

Discard

After getting the initial 5 cards, you will have to discard one or all of the cards. To select which cards you want to hold, use the "hold" button on each card.

Final agreement

After selecting the cards to be held, you must click the "Deal" button again for new cards to take the place of the discarded ones.

End of the game

After the cards are discarded, you receive the final hand. If the final hand has any combination of the ones presented in the pay table, you win the prize corresponding to that combination. Otherwise, the hand is considered lost.
